It Came To Me
This past Friday, Kate Motaung of Five Minute Friday prompted the mob of writers with the word FULL. We were in the throes of moving and I didn’t join the mob but that word won’t go away so today I want to write about being FULL.
full, the adjective means: containing or holding as much or as many as possible; having no empty space.
As most of you know, hubs and I just moved into our fourth and final home. If you are on my email distribution list you’ve been following our journey. If you aren’t getting my weekly email and would like to, by all means mention it in the comments and I’ll gladly add you. This tiny house has been a very short process of doing! We took a weekend road trip to Greer SC to drive through a tiny house village in late September and on October 14 (my birthday) we signed the papers to order one! It was the most painless, effortless thing we’ve ever done – it’s as though God flung wide the doors and escorted us through.
For two months we have been preparing for the move. I shred 300 pounds of paper. We gave away much of our furniture. We gave away so many decorative tchotchkes! We donated a bunch of no longer needed niceties. When we found out we could move in on Thanksgiving weekend, we had mixed feelings but in the end it worked out perfectly. We had a lovely holiday dinner with family and friends and on Friday morning all those turkey-laden people helped load the U-haul. It was an orchestrated effort. I got the flat all clean and we drove to our new home.
In our tiny house village, there are already 4 permanent families, 1 weekend family, 2 for sale homes, and 4 vacant lots. Our full-time neighbors came out and within 2 hours the truck was empty. Boxes everywhere! We put our bed together (a Sleep Number) first thing because we knew we would collapse that night!
Even Fuller Still
Our hearts are full. We had a wonderful weekend with those we love. We are living a 15-year dream, in our very own tiny house.
We are filled to the brim with gratitude and thanks-living.
And, we have no empty space!
