This is my third Friday to join the gang over at Five Minute Friday, today’s prompt is WRITE. Should be easy (I think). Well, here goes, set the timer, 5 minutes.
On my mark, get set, GO!
My heart overflows with a good theme…my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. Psalm 45.1
I’ve been writing ever since I was 8 years old when my girlfriend, Barbara and I wrote and published the Manor Times. We used those five and dime printing blocks. Yes we did and then we circulated our 8×10 paper around the neighborhood at ten cents a copy. We wrote about everything and everybody. That’s when I knew writing would always be a part of my life.
I write because I have to. I’ve laid my pen down many, many times but I always find my way back. I’m not a deep writer, more practical than anything. And, I’ve learned so much in my 63 years that I’m compelled to share. King David loved to write – and I know Holy Spirit inspired his every word but I think even if he hadn’t known God, he would have written – it was part of his dna.
God is the master writer and everything He does is good – I can always tell when He is inspiring or I’m just writing. When He is in control, the fingers just fly over the keyboard when Susan is writing, I stumble, I fumble, I strive. O to say His words to His women. That is my hope.
How is it that five minutes of writing equates to one minute of reading! This Friday exercise is quite fun actually!
(And, just to stay honest, I did the Italics and links AFTER the five minutes!!!)
