Kate said willing
Always best to stick with the first thought that pops into my head. So here goes…
I’m praying for a certain someone to be smitten by the Lord Jesus. I’ve been asking my good, good Father to chase this person – to run him down and pursue him. That’s how I pray.
He is able (read here)
God is able to do that. Holy Spirit has been invited to engage and I know that behind the scenes things are being set up.
He must be willing
Now, that the prayer has been prayed. The desire has been said out loud my next prayer is …
for the person to be willing.
Because God is not pushy. He is kind and gentle when He pursues. Yet, He can be persistent.
Father God, in Jesus’ Name, this person needs You. This person isn’t even aware that they are being prayed for. Might they sense Your presence. Your love. Your desire to change their life forever in every possible good way. And, Father, by the power of Your Holy Spirit, they be so enamored by You that they are willing to surrender and become Yours – all in for all time. Yes, Lord. Amen.
God is able yet we must be willing to obey and surrender. God didn’t create puppets – He created mankind to have choices.
May I always be willing, Lord, to hear Your voice and to be responsive and obedient.
