Kate said, or perhaps, asked…
The answer to the question, “Why?” In light of this week’s horrific events is…
the same answer to Job’s display of grief in his OT book…
We live in a fallen world.
“Think it not strange these fiery trials….” (1 Peter 4)
This living is not going to get better – it is only going to get worse. I must remember this earth is not my home. I am but a pilgrim traveling through.
I have witnessed grief. I have witnessed heinous murders in my own family and the family of my precious friends.
WHY? WHY NOT?
There is no trite answer.
We long for that place, that heavenly place where our tears will be wiped away and the mysteries revealed. (Hebrews 11)
Today, we depend on what my Grandma Emily called “that kind of grace.” The kind I never want to need again. The kind that can only be experienced by the hard. The unthinkable. The worst of anything.
That grace is only available when we personally experience, “WHY?”
