Kate said well
There is no hard decision here today. I have to write on my most favorite New Testament bible story.
Sam at the well.
There she was at noontime with her water pot – NO ONE goes to the town well at noon, it is hot and only the “I don’t measure up to the other women” women go at twelve noon.
You see Sam was a bad girl – she’s had like five husbands and the man she is living with isn’t her husband and the beat goes on. Amen?
I was a bad girl too
Just like Sam I’ve worn some shame – I didn’t have to go to the community well at noon but I sure had to hide my sinful face from my mom and grandma. Oh yes, Sam, I can relate but then…
Guess who else was at that well?
Yup, you guessed it. Jesus. Funny thing in the biblical account of Sam at the well, the Word says “Jesus had need to go through Samaria.” You see Sam didn’t know it but she had a divine appointment that day. Jesus was waiting for her.
He waited for me too.
But the well is deep
So there He was and there she was.
Give me some water to drink.
Why on earth is he talking to me a Samaritan?
Please, some water?
“But the well is deep and You have no cup.”
The story ends well
Jesus began talking about Living Water and if Sam would just drink from Him she would never thirst again. And, Jesus proceeded to tell her all things about herself. The story ends well with Sam becoming a believer in His Living Water and His message.
She had no idea just how deep that Well was….
Sam, the story can be found in John’s Gospel chapter 4! Read it, you’ll be glad you did!
