Kate said Testimony
“Can I get a testimony?”
You haven’t experienced a testimony service until you’ve sat in a country church in the Appalachian mountains. They are loud. They are dramatic. They are wet – because people are crying and sniffing and blowing their noses.
And, they are hopeful.
Yes, I say this often but when you are in a bad place and someone comes along with a testimony similar to what you are going through? Hope comes flooding in.
Maybe that can happen for me.
She survived – so can I.
My story isn’t near as hard as hers – I can do this.
The God of all Comfort
2 Corinthians 1.3-4 goes like this:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
The Moanies or?
One of my favorite Bible teachers used to say,
When the test comes, and it WILL come, are you going to be left with a testimony or the “moanies?”
What will it be?
I don’t know about you but when I am pushed and tested, I want to come out on the other side with a good testimony not whining and complaining.
I want to be able to say,
If He did it for me – He can do it for you!
So what will it be?
A bad case of the moanies or a strong and powerful testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness?
