Doing the happy dance because it’s Friday morning. I just spent TWO hours mowing our ONE acre yard with a push mower. Yes, I’m already tired and I’ve only been up THREE hours. I gave my hubs FOUR kisses before he left for work. I am getting ready to free-write for FIVE minutes over at Kate Motaung’s with the wild five minute friday group. We’re into numbers today, the word prompt?
Ten
Setting the timer for 10, oh ratz, I mean five minutes…
So many of my posts date me. This prompt immediately brings to mind the movie from years ago titled, TEN, starring the knockout bombshell Bo Derrick. The infamous photo is her walking out of the water in her scanty bathing suit, dripping wet, with beaded braids in her hair. It may have birthed the phrase, “She / He is a 10!” Meaning how beautiful, sexy, amazing a person is.
I’m here to tell all of us. Remind all of us.
We are all 10’s in God’s eyes!
You know how I know that? Because God Himself reminds us in His love letter to us.
I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you… Jeremiah 31.3
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God…1 John 3.1
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 1 John 4.9
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him…Psalm 103.11
People, it doesn’t matter if our teeth are crooked, or our hair is gray, or we’re overweight or underweight. Whether the world says we’re pretty or not. IT DOESN’T MATTER.
God is crazy, over the moon, in love with us. How do I know? Because He told me.
We’re 10’s!
xo
Disclaimer: I wrote for five, but went back and did the links! 😉
Thanks for the reminder! I guess I’m dated, as well, because that movie is also one of the first things that comes to my mind. When did we get old, no, wait, I mean mature?
The days are slow, the years are fast. My friend! I’m right there with you in the mature group!
I can see Bo Derrick in my mind’s eye. I am no Bo Derrick, but I am so thankful God is “crazy, over the moon in love” with me. Stretch marks, wrinkles, sags, and all.
I need to let that sink down to my toes.
Thank you for your words of truth. I just need to rest in it.
Cheryl, after I wrote that I went over and Google’d Bo – she was one hot chica!!! But so am I — TO HIM! He is more than enough!
This is great! Thank you for such affirming words! Stopping by from FMF ~ Happy Friday to you! 🙂
Thanks Rachel! Glad you came by!
I’ve missec you too friend! I love this line: “God is crazy, over the moon, in love with us. How do I know? Because He told me.” And indeed we are all tens in God’s eyes. I’m so thankful for that promise!
One 10 to another!
Susan,
I actually feel really sorry for Bo. Can you imagine how much pressure she feels now? So many people remember her youth and youth is fleeting…and they are constantly Googling her to see how she looks now and then. I am glad for anonymity. She’s aging just like the rest of us. She still needs to know she’s enough in God’s eyes. 🙂
That being said, your post was wonderful! Our egg shells may have cracks or spots, but it’s the yolk that matters. You are a Ten!
Love,
Tammy
(#20 this week)
I cannot imagine. I am happy right where God set me!!! xo
I love using an old fashioned push power. I am not much of an engine girl. I like rowboats and kayaks over motor boats…and push mowers the best too. And, of course, it is so comforting to be reminded that I am a 10 in God’s eyes. I am a 10 in Joe’s eyes too!
When I say push mower, I do mean it has a motor, but humans are the “horsepower” pushing it!!! I loved your blog and your view.
yes we are all a TEN perfect in God’s eyes! Love the scriptures to remind of His great love for each of us.
Jenn, when we need reminding these are my go-to verses! Thanks for the visit.
we are thinking alike today, loved this.
Denise, several of us were!
I’m checking out your blog as well! Thanks for your visit earlier today. I think women especially have a hard time believing we’re all a 10, but God has given us these reminders if we’ll just pay attention.
And, we must continuously remind one another!
Love this! As I was reading more FMF posts today and thinking about what else I could have written instead of a list, I actually thought about the direction you headed today. I am so glad you wrote these words. We can never hear enough how much we are loved by God and others. Happy weekend!
Thanks for visiting, Mary!
Ah yes and Amen! He is right out of His ever loving (for real) mind, crazy head over heels in love with us! Now – if we could just remember to view ourselves the way He sees us!
That’s the hard part!
Sweet friend, thank you for reminding us of who we are in His eyes! All too often the opinion of others and of the Enemy gets me down. It was good to read these words and feel His love pour into my heart!
Marie, we must be better at reminding each other!
