This morning I checked in on Five Minute Friday – Kate said…
00:00
I love you,
You love me,
We’re a happy family,
with a great big hug,
and a kiss from me to you,
Won’t you say you love me TOO!
I love you,
You love me,
We’re best friends like friends should be,
With a great big hug,
And a kiss from me to you,
Won’t you say you love me too!
Now, that’s support, isn’t it?
How simple life would be if families could just sing the Barney song and support one another.
THAT doesn’t even sound like something I would say, does it? But there is a situation in our family that has me full of hurt and disappointment and needs a great big dose of Barney – sing with me?
05:00 (Love copy and paste lyrics!)
It would be so simple. Wouldn’t it?
Oh, yes. If only… visiting from FMF
🙂
Oh Precious Lord, why, can’t we all just walk in Love and Forgiveness. .
Right?
It would really help. Too bad sometimes life hurts make it hard to love. Praying for all those families that need a little bit of love.
Oh yes Amanda.
Love this!
XO
Shall we dance?
Dear Susan, I am sorry for the struggle. God is with us. Just read Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest the other day saying how the gospel really is simple. I agree with simple truth, simple love, (never would have remembered Barney, my oldest used to watch it …. but simple lives in our fallen world . Just praying now for your situation. Blessings, Julie
JULIE, thank you. I remember dancing the Barney dance with my niece who is now 25+; my kids are way before the Barney generation!
Very welcome. It’s how we in the family of God and apparently in Barneys world roll!
Life would be so simple if only … Praying for you and yours, friend, that God would bring exactly what is needed to your situation! xo
Thank you, Joanne. xo
If only life were this simple! And now I’ve got this ear-worm stuck in my head. And Rwanda holds a special place in my heart. A seminary classmate is from there.
EAR WORM?????????????????
You know there were days that I would actually get chills when that song came on–especially when I was feeling the need for love in our families. But of course, the world took it all as sickening, and look where we are now! Without Jesus, we cannot love or forgive. Praying for your family today, to feel the loving arms of Jesus supporting them!
Bettie, what the world needs now? Is some Barney love!
I do love you and I’m big but not so blue as Barney.
I think he was purple!!!
We’re also experiencing a difficult family situation that could use a chorus or two of The Barney Song. Sometimes extending grace and forgiveness to those closest to us is more difficult than with a stranger. I will think of you when I pray about our situation, and will lift yours up as well. Take care.
In agreement, Joyce.
Praying for you, sweet friend, and for the family situation! I know if it concerns you, then it concerns Him and if it concerns Him –He is at work inside and outside of time to restore and redeem!
HOPE… hope is good! Hope changes everything!
(I’ve heard that somewhere before!)
I think that’s in psalms, right?
Susan, I’m so sorry. I’ve walked through those hurtful seasons with family too. It’s painful! I’m saying a prayer for you and the situation. May God help you to love well in the midst of the hurt. Thanks for your transparency, and the song to remind me what’s important.
And that Barney-who would have known!!!
Susan, you’re in my prayers.
As you are mine.
Susan, I love how God speaks to us in the most unconventional ways. He often uses children’s movies and shows to speak to me. Like Penguins saying “Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave.” Or Shrek saying to donkey, “Change is good, Donkey.”
Father, thank You for being Susan’s EVER-PRESENT HELP. We welcome you to come and have Your way in her home and family today. Refresh her, speak to her, give her a reason to giggle, and restore her joy!
Shauna, I receive your prayer with great gratitude.
Faith like a child….they still show us the way don’t they, Susan? <3
Yes they surely do.
I’m so sorry for the hurt and disappointment and pray God will work it all out somehow. How much we need that love and support even when, especially in, those times.
Especially… thank you very much, Barbara.
