Kate said sunrise.
\o/ Singing! Sunrise…Sunset… the song from Fiddler on the Roof. Anyone?
I do love the sunrise and here in tiny house we have a good view of it as our living room windows open toward the east. It always beams through the transom windows first and dances on the upper shelves over our kitchen. Oft times I take a photo and post it on IG. Being a morning person the sunrise is a favorite.
30 Years of no sunsets
When we lived in the mountains – there was no view of the sunrise (nor the sunset for that matter). Mountain ridges blocked our views.
When near the coast…
I always want to watch the sun creep up over the horizon and see the light over the sea. Such beauty. Such promise.
Moses and Aaron and his sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, in front of the tent of meeting… Numbers 3.38
One sweet day…
When the Son rises and takes me home I will see the sun rise “from the other side.” Can you even imagine what that will be like? O! What a day!
I absolutely went right to Fiddler when I saw the prompt. I just wrote a paper about the historical significance of that film, but also having just prepared a gift for my best friend’s 40th birthday (meaning mine is soon to follow), I relate so strongly to that song. Sunrise. Sunset. Where did they all go?

The Days Are Long The Years So Short!
That’s quite a thought that we will see the sunrise ‘from the other side’. Wow!
I mean, right, Letitia?
Sunrise, sunset, please take the bet
that I will live out the year,
for I ain’t ready, oh no, not yet
to get taken from here;
gotta care for the lovely girl I married,
gotta care for my dogs, they’re so true,
gotta keep up the writing I have carried
forward for me, and for you.
So place your dough upon my skill,
and on my desire to win,
and on my burnished iron will
(which maybe is close to pride’s sin),
and you’ll collect on Vegas odds
while the biggest smile is God’s.
You’ll live out 2021 – no doubt in my mind.
When the son rises he takes me home. Amen. I never thought of fiddler and may now have to watch! Loretta fmf #16
Amen, Loretta.
I can’t imagine not seeing the sun rise…
It was odd. From Florida to no sunrise.
I’m so glad you get to enjoy the show in your tiny home! From our view, we see the effects of the sunrise more than the sunrise itself! We see Mt. Adams glow and turn pink before the sun rises enough to let the mountain shine brightly in all its snow-covered glory!
xoxo
Sounds incredible!!!
Oh Glorious Day! Your words reminded me of the Casting Crowns song by that title. I am not a morning person. So, I am a sunset kind of girl. I hope you have a lovely day.
Yes! I know the song!!!
It’s been a long time since I’ve lived somewhere where I CAN’T see both the sunrise and the sunset. I am blessed, indeed! One of these days, a coffee table book will show up on your doorstep ;).
Oh yes please. xoxoxoxo
