Kate said STAY
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. [They did not STAY with Him.] 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. [We are going to STAY with You.]” John 6
STAYing Power
Recently, I’ve been preaching often to myself. Encouraging myself to stand firm and sure on the Word of God. Because in this shaky, unsure world – IT is the only Truth.
We are living in precarious times. Times of fear and threat.
- Vaccines with chips
- Viruses that can be used to change the entire dynamics of daily life
- Quarantine
- Looting
- Marches
Do I have what it takes to STAY?
To stay faithful and true to what I know is True and Eternal?
Years ago, Holy Spirit dropped this word into my spirit: ENDURANCE. Today, I call it staying power.
I pray for STAYing power. I pray to have courage. I pray to be brave.
Matthew 24
When I was in sixth or seventh grade we lived in South Florida – it was the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Those days, we had devotions and prayers over the PA system of our public school. It was my turn to lead the entire school in devotions. I boldly read Matthew 24 and prayed for courage and bravery and a fast end to the scary event.
I find myself praying it now too.
22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it.24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.25 See, I have told you beforehand. Matthew 24
Stay
Father God, in Jesus’ Name – help me to stay strong. Help me to have an enduring spirit. Help me to trust You so inexplicably that my knees don’t shake and I can say NO, NOT TODAY SATAN. Regardless of what that “NO” means. Help me, Jesus, You are the One who holds the words of life and truth.
What are you praying for these uncertain days?
I’m just trying to stay alive. So far, so good.
Stay with me this bitter night,
stay thee through the pain
and the daunting demon-fright,
please, my love, remain!
Stay with me and hold my hand,
stay and help me breathe,
stay, my dear, and understand
that I don’t want to leave.
I know that Jesus waits for me,
I know that this is true,
but nowhere I’d rather be
than here, right here, with you.
Stay, although it’s getting late,
as together we bid Heaven wait.
I swear Andrew if you live to experience the Rapture of the Saints? I will be doing the double dosey doh on streets of gold!!! NO disrespect at all. Love you two to the moon.
We love you right back, to the stars and beyond!
Amen and Amen.
And, one more amen.
I am praying we have major breakthroughs in our country for peace and prosperity for all people. I pray for the safety of the protesters and the police during these turbulent times.
Thanks for sharing your deep-rooted faith. I pray for the return of Jesus soon too!
Yes, Lord.
Joining you in praying to stay faithful. Also been using the words of the Lord’s Prayer in certain situations this week – “Your will be done, your kingdom come, “because I don’t even know what to pray for specifically.
Lesley, so many amen’s… xo
Staying, remaining and standing firm. its not always easy – FMF #4
Not for the faint of heart.
Oh yes, to stay faithful to the end. Come quickly, Lord Jesus! Beautiful post!
YES!
Thanks for this important reminder. My faith is what grounds me and I want it to center everything I do. There will be times I fail, but God always gives us a second chance,
Grounded and Centered in Christ.
Love this Susan! Yes…staying faithful to the end! I do want Lord to come back before dinner tonight!
I don’t think HE did!!!
