Kate said she.
Have you ever noted in the Old Testament book of Proverbs that the writer/s always refer to wisdom as SHE? I certainly did as I wrote one of my 31 Days in books.
Isn’t it interesting that something as big as wisdom is tagged with the feminine pronoun SHE?
Wisdom has built her house, SHE has hewn out her seven pillars; SHE has slaughtered her meat, SHE has mixed her wine, SHE has also furnished her table. Proverbs 9
You peruse Proverbs some month – there is a chapter for each of a 31-day month. Good reading too. You will note all the feminine pronouns.
Mrs. P31 and I have a love / hate relationship! On my good days I’ve loved her and on bad days? I’ve disliked her a lot! Then, poof, a beam of heavenly light descended on me and basically said, “The Proverbs 31 woman has been falsely accused for over 2,000 years. She has been blamed for failure. She has been blamed for setting the bar too high. She has been blamed for epic fails. She’s been blamed for being too perfect in an imperfect world. Can you relate? Who on earth could measure up?
…What if Mrs. P31 woman was WISDOM all along? (from “31 Days in Proverbs – Wisdom 101” by me!)
It’s Worth the Pondering
Today, I give you a challenge. Read Proverbs this summer and see if King Lemuel wasn’t talking about wisdom in his famous declaration in chapter 31.
Readers, I offer you the new Proverbs 31 woman. She is the redeemed of the Lord; she is filled with wisdom, completed through Christ; she is set free; she is all of these 10-31 awesomenesses because of her position in Jesus, who is Excellence in her, in all she is. She (we) are the Excellence of Christ.
Think of all the “she’s” killed by the abortionist’s knife.
