Kate said RESPECT
\o/ I’m walking in singing…
R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find out what it means to me…
Oh yeah baby…nothing like a little jive from Aretha Franklin to shake up the room this morning! Am I the only one who admits this was my very first thought when I saw Kate’s word?
The number 2 definition I find on a search: due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.
Last night as the day unwound and thoughts of sleep were being aroused, a notice came over the cyber airwaves from the Pastor of the church we have been attending. I knew what he was going to say. Beginning this Sunday the church is asking that all who attend live church wear a mask. He did not say require, he said ask.
I respect the request but I won’t go until this is lifted. I’ll sit at home and watch church online. You see, I do not want to get in the practice of doing something I don’t agree with. I think that is dangerous territory and the enemy of our soul is sitting in his unholy place laughing hysterically how he can pull the strings on (even) strong believers.
DO NOT THINK
This isn’t a prelude to more requirements. We live in a broken world and sooner or later we, the followers of Jesus, are going to be called “up and out.”
You can gather but you cannot sing or worship aloud.
You can shop but you must cover your face.
You can buy food but you must use a card.
You can go to school but you must get vaccinated.
You can buy a loaf of bread but you must scan your wrist.
Please know, I obey the laws of the land (Romans 13) but, there is a point where it becomes dictating and dangerous (Acts 4.19-20). The discernment to know the difference is a prayer we have to be praying without ceasing.
No need to agree
With me…but this is how I interpret …
It’s only a mask.
It’s only a mark.
Not today, Satan. Not tomorrow either. The enemy of my soul will NEVER get respect from me.
P.S. I know there are many of you who disagree with me and that is fine, I respect your right. I am in no way being unruly or not following the laws of our land – I pay taxes. I go the speed limit. I register our cars. I see this as a prelude to more. It’s only a mask.
P.P.S. Never would I compromise someone else’s health by my stand on this. NEVER. That is why I would rather stay home.
P.P.P.S. If you can control them with a mask – you can control them with a mark.
