Kate said purpose.
What is my purpose? What is yours?
To explain my answer I must qualify the position from which I write. I am a believer in, and a follower of, Jesus Christ.
My Purpose
My purpose is to be known by Him and to make Him known. The second part of that is why I write.
Many people run from “religion” and, in all honesty I don’t blame them. Religion can get ritualistic – too many rules and too many don’t’s!
Relationship is Purpose
But, to have a relationship with Christ is one of the greatest purposes of life. He is a Friend who stays closer than a brother. He is a Confidante who keeps every secret. He is the epitome of Hope-giver.
Do you know your purpose?
P.S. One of the best resources to discover your purpose is the book The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. You can find it on Amazon.
I agree. “A relationship with Christ is one of the greatest purposes of life.”
It definitely is for me.
Loving God and allowing Him to love us is certainly a purpose worth living for!
It certainly is.
My purpose is to ride the waves
of the storm that would destroy
any hope that Jesus Saves,
but I am a Christ fanboy,
and so I hold to what I know,
the OT and more, the Gospel,
and even though I’m feeling low
and, truth tell, so really awful,
I will still deliver praise
to a God I cannot see
right through these, the worst of days
when I’d rather not be me
in the hope that obeisance
will be my deliverance.

My purpose is much the same as your, Susan….to continue following Christ and to help others find Him as well. Retirement doesn’t mean we’re worthless to Him! Let’s keep on keeping on till He comes back. Oh, what a glorious day that will be!
O! What a day!
I love this message in this post! And it’s true – our greatest purpose as Christians is to have a close relationship with God.
The greatest!
I do know my purpose and my calling. Thankful for your writing as always.
Kathy
I know you do!
My purpose is to glorify God and make his name known. With what time I have left, I want to do that more each day. Only with his help can that be achieved.
PURPOSE.
Sometimes a small gesture gets your foot in the door to witness to others who don’t believe or have doubts. Praying over food at a restaurant u can say, “we just getting ready to pray over our food, do you have anyone in your family needing prayer today? U r not stepping on toes just offering a way to communicate about God. It just could make the difference in one person at a time.
I love the prayer idea – I used to do that all the time!
