Kate said, “OTHER.”
My routine wasn’t followed because I fell asleep very early last night. As the sun sank below the western mountains, my eyelids followed. There was no other thing to do but sleep.

Other – interesting word. To refer to someone or something as different or distinct from someone or something else; further or additional…
I imagine this is a word that if we paid attention we would hear ourselves and others say many times in a day.
Other. Not to be confused with another – which means additional.
Other. No other. There is no other.
For those of you who remember the days of Jim Bakker and Heritage USA – I read Bakker’s biography and in it he confesses to preaching an-other gospel. He was in prison when he wrote the bio and it was a really good, honest tale of repentance and sorrow.
I get tickled by the expression, “My sister from an-other mother.” In fact the photo above is from one of mine.
But my all time favorite and best use of this strange word OTHER is…
…Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4.11-12
Peter and John had it right that day as they stood before the Council in Jerusalem.
THERE IS NO OTHER NAME.
Buddhism won’t save you.
Hinduism won’t save you.
Mohammed cannot save you.
There is but ONE – no OTHER name under heaven [or on earth] offers eternal salvation.
Why take the chance? The One who can and will bring you hope and peace like NO OTHER can.

Exactly! Why take the chance? Only Jesus saves. Thanks for sharing, Susan. Blessings to you.
Boma, I so enjoy your visits.
I choose to comment on yours because we both choose No other. I wanted to see your perspective. Your right on the name of Jesus or Yeshua. There is no other sweeter name. I love that song, Something about that Name, Jesus. It is the sweetest name I know.
It is undeniably, the Sweetest Name I know. Yes ma’am.
Oh amen – there is no other name. Love this look at the prompt. And so very grateful and blessed to be a Christian and know the One who has no other name!!
Have a great weekend!!
Jennifer! we are so very blessed.
Hi Susan,
I loved the direction of your thoughts! There are so many good songs on that topic. But all I could hear was the 70s hymn that “The Hawaiians” sang, “No Name on Earth has Meant so Much to Me.” Amen. No other name but His. xo
I don’t know that song but the title is great!
Barnabas was also an evangelist.
Yes, Barney was.
I was struck this time by “no other NAME.” I feel like we so often re-name Jesus into our own images. Thank you for this grounding reminder!
Only one!
Interesting take on the prompt, Susan!
Thank you lovely Katha.
I love the way you write an-other. I don’t often think of the additional versus the divisional quality of other versus another, but that really highlighted it for me. Thanks for sharing this perspective. #fmf
Sue, glad it spoke to you in an-other way!
Nicely done, Susan.
Thank you friend.
Nice job!
Thanks Tara. Did you get some mail from me?
A card and some tea! Yes I did!
okay good. Just making sure I had your correct address.
