Kate said once.
So here’s where I instantly “went:”
Once and for all
Once upon a time
Oncett..(we lived in the mountains of NC for 30 years and the old mountain preachers used to say “Oncett…….” (this is not spoken as on-cet but as one syllable with a t at the end oncetttt.
This is what I came up with…
Once upon a time in the hill country of Nazareth, in Israel, Holy Spirit visited a young girl named Mary. He told her that she was going to be a mother. She was shocked because at the young age of 14, she had never been with a man. She had a boyfriend named Joseph, who was quite a bit older than her. She knew if what she heard was true – Joseph may not propose to her.
But God…He sent a visitor to Joseph and assured him that Mary was pure as the new snow and that Joseph needed to betroth her and protect her. He did exactly that.
Turned out Mary had a baby – not just any baby but the Son of God Himself.
Mary and Joseph took good care of their baby, named Him Jesus, just like they had been instructed by the heavenly messenger.
And…
Jesus grew up in an ordinary family, with brothers and sisters, yet He was different. How different, you ask? He never sinned. He never told a lie. He never did any harm to anyone. He was everyone’s Friend.
When Jesus was 30 years old He began to minister – this was His destiny. He gathered 12 unlikely young men to be His companions and they walked all about Israel teaching Kingdom, and odd things like being born-again. They made many friends and many enemies.
Then…
Then, one horrid day – Jesus was arrested, tried, and convicted to die on a cross. It was horrid and unbelievable – but He did die and He was buried.
The most incredible thing happened three days after He was buried – He rose from the grave and He was alive again. He went about telling everyone that if they believed in Him they would be given eternal life with Him in heavenly places because His death on that old splintered cross was an atonement for sin – all sins.
The conclusion
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Romans 6.10
Oncett and for all.
Do you know Him?

You can’t argue with that visiting from fmf #6
No argument here!
So many years ago this earth
waited with held breath
for that bright game-changing birth
to a girl from Nazareth
of a very special child
(an angel came to call!)
who, from a world gone wild
had come to save us all,
but that salvation held a cost
to she who bore the babe,
and she would weep beneath the cross
for the son she could not save
from the horror, from the pain,
unsure that He would rise again.
Mary, I think about her and her life all the time. Such angst and sorrow.
Me too, Susan.
