Kate said nourish
What nourishes your soul? You tell me and I’ll tell you what nourishes mine!
Well, I’ll tell you regardless!
Soul Food
Time at home. I love our home. I love being here and it is the place I energize. I nourish my soul with reading, writing, resting, sitting out in the sun, and just day-to-day putzing around!
So, on this day, after a 5-day mini vacay in South Florida I am nourishing my soul. I am working at my job in customer service and doing laundry. I have a plan for supper. Our tiny house is decorated for Christmas and the house is clean and tidy. Those things nourish me.
Family Time
Just spent a lot of days with family members – all my favorites but one, Simon. Simon stayed behind in North Carolina to be with his girlfriend on Thanksgiving. . This past Friday night, 12 of us gathered around a table at an outdoor venue in Lake Worth, FL. The air was cool and the night clear and beautiful. It was wonderful. I didn’t have a lot to say so I watched and observed my people. We laughed. We ate. We got silly at times and it was perfectly perfect and completely nourishing to my soul.
Now, it’s your turn
What nourishes yours?
You ask, what’s nourishment to me,
what makes me see the sun?
Are you ready, friend, to see
that it’s working on a gun?
I started off with custom stocks,
for plastic ain’t my style,
but those became mere building blocks,
and though it is a trial
I’m setting a plain-jane AR
to run as a bullpup rifle
which takes it really really far
from normal – not a trifle,
but work that’s suited to my hands
both in this life and Heaven’s lands.
None of the conversions alter the AR’s semi-auto function. They’re strictly legal.
I love that you can still do this. Build on, my friend.
Oh, yes. It hurts to do the work, badly, but I am having fun.
And Barb really likes them.
Thanks for your post and the invitation to share what nourishes me. There are several experiences that nourish me but my top three are time with God (alone and with others), time with loved ones, and solitude (especially outdoors). Visiting from FMF. Blessings.
Esther, we get our nourishment from the same sources!
Love your writing as always.
I am nourished by nature and travel and reading……………………and a whole list of other things.
Kathy
You definitely nourish your soul with things you love.
