Two whole weeks. Two Thursday nights. Two Friday’s. . .
Without interacting with some of the nicest online writers I know! The group began gathering about 8 o’clock eastern time and last night’s guest list was excellent. Kate Motaung, the hostess with the mostest, arrived soon after. When she comes in the room she has a unique way of circling the crowd and readjusting the focus – signs of a good leader. Too much talk about food? She changes the subject to find out our favorite all-time movie! If someone mentions a book? She offers quotes and quips. Quite a lady, FMF’s Kate is. Whoops! Forgot to mention the reason for the party, but most of you already know! Five Minute Friday, of course. The writing challenge where a one word prompt is given and one writes freely for FIVE minutes. No edits. No strikeouts. No worries. It is great fun and, as my friend Ms. K says, “I love my FMF Tribe!”
Curious? Read about it here.
Up to the challenge?
This week’s word?
(Disclaimer: I have no earthly idea what these say!)
I went to bed knowing the word and because I can’t form sentences past nine o’clock, I waited until this morning. But, there was never any doubt what the Lord immediately spoke into my heart for this word.
All through history she’s gotten a bad wrap. People have accused her of being a harlot. A woman of the night. A bad girl. Movies always play on the harlot thing and it makes me mad. This year’s hit, RISEN, did the same thing and I wanted to stand up in the theater and shout,
Mary Magdalene was not a whore. She was a woman with some serious vexing but she was not a whore.
You know what I love about MM? She was there. She was present. She was healed and set free by The Master and she followed Him…everywhere.
You know the day.
That Third Day moment.
Gathered her oils and herbs.
Took a walk.
To the tomb.
What did she find?
No one, I tell you.
Stone rolled away.
Guards in a trance.
Burial clothes intact.
Yet void of her Master.
Devastated, she wept.
Woman, why are you crying? Who are you looking for? [John 20.15]
Master! [John 20.16]
Go to the others and tell them the good NEWS. [John 20.17]
Immediately, Mary went and told the heartbroken disciples….
THE NEWS! [John 20.18]

Today is the LAST DAY to download the story of MALCHUS. This is a great read aloud story for your family, class, church to enjoy this Lenten Season. It is the story between the lines of The Gospel about the soldier who had his ear sliced off. Remember? What ever happened to Malchus? Download HERE.
