Kate said MORE.
I am thinking.
the more the merrier
less is more
more, please
more or less
More is a word we probably use “more” than we even know. And, yet in this season of my life I find I don’t want much more. I have all that I need. If I was to take a minute, and I only have five, I would add these to the list of wanting more:
- peace
- joy
- tranquility
- energy
I believe my “less” list would be much longer but since the word prompt is more I’ll stick to topic.
This more or less sums up the post:
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Matthew 6.25-27

I’m with you, there are so few things I want more of in this season of life. In fact, there are many things I could do with a good measure less of. More of God, that’s enough.

FMF #13 this week.
Linda, YES! I so agree. More of Jesus and more peace.
I love how you managed to get ‘more’ AND ‘less’ in your post ;). When I start wishing for more energy, I know I haven’t been getting enough rest. Blessings to you this week, my friend!
Dealing with a bit of anxiety, AJ, a sleep robber!
I love that “Less is More” thought, Susan! Maybe that should be my new mantra. “Less” will lead to more peace, joy, tranquility, and energy for me! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Less is more is a mantra I’m finding quite relative in all areas of life. Food, decorating, doing, going, etc. Really striving for that quality not quantity thing!
Less is more in my book. The only exception is God and his grace. Thanks for sharing, Susan! Blessings upon blessings!
19 amen’s to that!
I love how you tied that verse into “more”! Easy to read and yet hard to faithfully live. Hugs to you!
Heather, I know. I figure if I keep saying it, sooner or later, it will sink in. LOL
Now, I know I really should be wanting
more of God and less of me;
just a simple Godly haunting
to bring the final victory.
I fear, though, there is error
in this boldly simple plan;
perhaps I should recoil in terror
at the arrogance of Man.
We were crafted, every one,
unique and irreplaceable,
just like God begat his Son
with individuality immutable.
It’s not reflection God longs to see;
He really wants a better me.
He wants a better bride. Without spot or wrinkle. For His perfect Son. Is someone documenting these poems?
Isn’t it funny how saying and lyrics and Bible verses come rushing to mind once we’ve heard the prompt? I’m definitely in the stage where less is more! We are living such a blessed life and there is truly no “thing” that we need! I’m very grateful for that! I can use a little of everything on your more list though! Loved your post!
Cindy, I like things but honestly don’t need one more!!!
Yes….summed up in that Matthew verse! Don’t need more!
When all is said and done, Tara, He is all we need. He is our MORE!
I love how you have expressed both more and less in this thoughtful and wryly humorous post. Although I could do with having less of quite a few things, these are definitely in short supply sometimes and well worth having more of: peace, joy, tranquillity and energy. Thank you! 🙂 x
Joy, I always enjoy your comments!
