Hubs and I were away most of this past week – camping in a small travel trailer in northern Virginia. Yes, it was heavenly and I didn’t even realize how desperately I needed to get away for a few days and do some soul breathing. In case you don’t know what that is? It is the act of doing only what you want to do. No “next thing’s”. No “have-to’s”. Just breathe and be. I am terrible at it BUT, I did it and it was wonderful. Try it!
Last night’s Twitter party began about 8:30 and I did make it for about one-half hour. Learned some glad news and some sad news – I didn’t stay long enough to hear the word prompt because I was in a fighting match with my eyelids and the lids won! Kate Motaung, host of Five Minute Friday, chose an interesting word and I’m anxious to see where it takes the writers.
One of the most mis-used words in our language. Many don’t know how to correctly use these words. Take heart! Today I have come to offer help. (Said wryly with a big grin.)
Loose: the button was so loose, it finally fell off.
Loss: the button fell off and I could not find it – it was a great loss because now I had to buy 7 new buttons.
Lost: the missing button was lost for good.
Lose: I hated to lose the button.
This past week Orlando has suffered great loss and my heart hurts for all of those dear people who have lost loved ones. It is the pain my grandma used to refer to as needing great grace. I pray THAT grace abounds to all.
Interesting word choice, Kate, and the very first thing that rose up in my spirit when I saw it?
What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his very soul? Mark 8.36
Sobering thought this Friday morning.
How’s your soul?
