I just couldn’t do it – I stepped into the party and five minutes later I knew there was no way to stay awake and be nice! Do any of you wonderful readers get grouchy when you are tired? I didn’t think so!!! Our FMF host, Kate Motaung was going to be a few minutes late so I decided the right thing to do is say good night and leave the Five Minute Friday party. This morning I learn the prompt is…
(I know, right? I love this guy!)
Red Riding Hood to Grandma (the wolf), Grandma, what big ears you have!
All the better to hear you with, my dear!
What a great word! LISTEN! And, I am definitely going THERE!
You didn’t hear a word I said. You never LISTEN to me when I speak to you. If you had LISTENED you would have known I told you I needed the car – but, that’s the problem…
You never LISTEN to me.
Hubs and I used to have this “discussion” over and over and over. Until I guess he got sick of listening to me and he began to key in to our conversations. Oh yes, I’ve helped him along – I’m good like that.
Dear, this is important, are you LISTENing to me? Are you focused in? Do you hear me? When people talk to you, LISTEN to them. They don’t care what YOU did. They care what they did and they want to tell you about. Learn to LISTEN. Be a good LISTENer. Shut up and LISTEN to people.
This is not news to him so it’s not like I’m telling any secrets – but he used to be a lousy LISTENer – he always would turn the conversation back to himself. I did. I thought. I was. I…. but about three weeks ago I noticed something in a social setting and it was beautiful.
It was music to my ears.
He was LISTENing.
He was engaged in the conversation with (can’t even remember who) and he was intent on LISTENing.
It was a lovely thing.
