I walked in late but I did walk in with Caribbean Coconut Gelato from TALENTI for everyone! There was an undertone of sadness last night as one of our own, Jen D, lost her mom this week. When one rejoices, all rejoice; when one grieves, all grieve. Kate Motaung, our host, announced a GoFundMe for Jen and her family and then announced the word for our Five Minute Friday writing:
Interesting word isn’t it?
This week my dearest friend, Kitty, came out to have lunch with me. We try to do this at least once per month. Kitty and I worked together in the 90’s. She was the director of our Chamber of Commerce and I was her administrative assistant. The only time I ever enjoyed working with a woman in an authorative position! Kitty and I became very close friends. We share our faith and our passion for The Word. You know, iron sharpens iron…
We were talking about something, can’t even remember what, when whatever IT caused me to burst out in song…
I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, la da la da la da, never to rise no more. But The Master of the sea heard my despairing cry and from the waters LIFTed me so safe am I. ♫♫♫
That’s what our gracious and merciful God does. He LIFTS us. This past week He lifted Jen’s mom straight into His arms for eternity.
Thank You, O Righteous, Everlasting Father for lifting us out of our mire and grit and being our Rescuer.
You, O God, are the Lifter of my head.
