Linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker today for five minutes of no-edit writing (I always go back and clean it up though!!!) And, as an aside, Lisa-Jo’s book “Surprised by Motherhood” goes on sale April 4th. I was privileged to preview three chapters of the book and found it to be “not your average Mommy book”. It has great depth and a lot of meaty tales – I believe all women would enjoy reading it. I plan to donate a copy to our church library and gift some new mom’s as well. Follow the link for your own sneak preview!
Today’s prompt is JOY! Setting the timer now:
♫♫ Joybells Joybells ringing in my heart♫♫ that was a Sunday School chorus we used to sing 55 years ago!
What makes the joybells ring for me today, at 63 years of age? Well here goes my random, off-the-top list:
- a sunny day
- Jesus, the joy Giver
- our dog, Sam
- my grandkids
- hiking
- chips
- pizza
- encouraging others
- desktop publishing
- working from home
- clean sheets
- birds at the feeder
- health
- blogging
- being read
- freshly mowed grass
- unexpected pleasures, like a friend dropping by
- summer
- the creaking of our screen door in the summer
- digging my toes in the sand at the beach
- beautiful colors
- redecorating a room
- a spotless kitchen (never happens though)
- kindred spirits
- an organized purse
- bins
- a stack of freshly folded towels
- my husband grocery shopping
- a hot shower on a cold night
***Not necessarily in this order!!!
What brings you joy?
You’re my neighbor at FMF this week. 🙂 I can identify with many on your list, especially a clean kitchen (yes, never stays that way) and an organized purse!
Hey neighbor! Thanks for dropping “back” by! Blessings to you.
