Kate said How?
How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52.7
“How” is a basic adverb. Kind of a bland word – one we say at least 99 times each day.
How are you?
How does that work?
How’s it going?
How can you?
By what means?
How is a hard word to write on – I’m not even quite sure ‘how’ to do it – by what means do we write?
There are many “how’s” in the New Testament and I am going to share my absolute favorite.
The blind man
In the Gospel of John, chapter nine we read where Jesus healed a blind man, blind from birth — the pharisees were terribly upset about it and asked this man’s parents “how he received his sight.” They basically said, “We have no idea.”
Then they asked the healed man, “How?” And, his answer causes me to do a happy hallelujah dance…
I don’t know HOW and I don’t know WHY but this I do know…
Once I was blind and now I see!
Kind of like me – I was walking around hurt and undone and The Master came and invited me back. I don’t know HOW and I don’t know WHY but I do know this…
I was lost and then I was found.
Do you have a how story?
