Hide and Seek
You can run but you can’t hide!
Those are the two thoughts which immediately popped into my mind when I saw the word prompt this morning.
I spent a portion of my life hiding from the Lord because I was hell-bent on sinful living. I was a young, hurt Mom to three kids under 9 and my marriage to the love of my life had crumbled.
HIDING
I went immorally crazy. I was hiding in all the wrong places and God was seeking me out. It took a while but He won and I am so glad He did!
There was a season in my middle years when going through some very, very hard things with adult kids I hid. But this time my hiding place was IN Him. Remember the song recorded by the group Selah, “You are my hiding place?” I kept it on repeat and clung to the words from Psalm 32.7
You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
TODAY
Today, I don’t run and I don’t hide. I walk with Him and cling to Him – I make myself known to Him and He to me.
I am eternally glad when I hid – He sought me and never gave up on me.
Are you hiding?
Such a difference when we make God our hiding place rather than hiding from him!
All the difference in the world.
My flight from God, it was well-earned,
did not want Him to see,
but now the tables, they are turned,
and it’s He who runs from me.
He knows I’m coming soon to share
His lovely Heaven-home,
and He’s packing all the glassware
in bales of styrofoam.
He knows that I’ll make frisbees
of golden serving plates,
and precious ornaments He sees,
well, He can guess their fates
when arrives His prize baboon
in the holy dining room.
You will sit near me and be proper. You hear?
Oh, very well.
Well played.
He is a wonderful hiding place, Susan!
The best!
You touched me dearly today my friend. Blessings.

Paula, your comments are always open and honest. I like that.
Susan, I love the contrast of hiding FROM Him and hiding IN Him! In today’s world, we definitely need to be hiding in Him. He’s our safe place!
Jerralea, He truly is!
