We returned from one of our mini-vacay’s this past Wednesday afternoon. We were blessed to spend time with two blogger friends and their husbands – time zone? Lake:Time! It was awesome! Three women, three men, and three dogs = perfection! Oh yes, lakeside wasn’t too shabby either. Last night I tuned in for the FMF Twitter party, I did say hello and lurked a while. Sentences weren’t forming and at 9:28 I caved in and fell asleep. This morning I learn Kate Motaung said…
I’m not sure Kate realizes she announced this word last year in May as well, read that post here, so I’ve changed EXPECT to EXPECTations…because, well let me tell you why…
If you read my writings on any regular basis, you know hubs’ and my love language is road trip. We share more as we clock miles than at any other time. This road trip was wrought with expectations. We had on our Joshua and Caleb hats and we were spying out the land. You see after our 2020 Vision trip we have to live somewhere and we have pretty much decided on not here. Now, I say that but, well, you know, God will have the final say – He always does and we like it that way. Because we have learned.
O! How we’ve learned!
IF we let Him direct our steps? The outcome is 99.9% better than if we map our own course! Oh yes, we make plans but they are always subject to His.
I’ve learned not to have expect-ations but today I believe I am going to create a new word. One I may even put on my refrigerator or screensaver to remind me that Proverbs 3.5-6 is still the best map for our future…
God-x-tations = expect God to act!
Yes, God-x-tations is now in my vocabulary. And its definition?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. LEAN NOT TO YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3.5-6
Do you expect God to act? Go read Psalm 42.
