I haven’t participated in Five Minute Friday in weeks – I haven’t even peeked into the Twitter party or the Facebook group page – we have been very, very busy moving. This morning I stalked Kate and saw that she said, “Done,” last night. NOW, this word I can relate to…
Stick a fork in us because we are…
I saw this word and said to myself I can certainly write five minutes on this word because we are DONE!
Moving out of our home of 30 years was a two-month long process. We stepped out in faith on June 1 and signed a lease for a downtown flat in Statesville NC about one block from our daughter’s home – we were under contract and it looked promising so we just ventured out and trusted the Lord to bring it all to fruition.
We were “done.” Our old 1950 farmhouse and 14+ acres was getting too much for us. One day my hubs and I looked at one another and said, “I’m tired.” Our can-do wasn’t broken but our want-to was! Does that make sense?
The month of June was a walk on eggshells. Appraisals, inspections, loan companies, the V.A. and so much more. With each day came a new wall to climb or challenge to overcome but on June 29th we officially were DONE. 172 became the dream of another couple, young and ambitious. They will take the property to the next level, until they are done.
Isn’t it an interesting word, this word done?
My five minutes are up and I submit my essay to the lovely folks in the Five Minute Friday community. I’m so glad I’m not done with them, nor them with me.
Oh my goodness, I imagine you are done after such a move!
It was grueling!!! But worth it.
I can identify with you. Moving and selling your home isn’t easy but glad your process is done. We moved from a 4,000 square foot home to an 800 square foot condo. It was an adjustment but now I’m glad I don’t have so much to take care of. I enjoyed reading your FMF post on done.
Debbie, wow, you really down-sized. I’m not sure we did – seems I still have an awful lot of “stuff.”
Praise God He does complete His works in us!! So thankful you are done with that move, and settling into the new! Blessings!!
He always finishes what He begins, amen?
Glad to see you back, Susan, and I’m glad everything got sorted with the move in the end!
Lesley, good to be “back.”
So thankful that part of your life is behind you. I will never be done with you, or the FMF community. Blessings!
Aw…Barbie…nor I, YOU!
I agree…never done with you or the FMF community. So glad everything worked out for all of you. I’m in the 57 spot this week.
Tara, it’s a group I love!
