Kate said disappoint
Whew! Have I ever been? You?
I’m sure this is one thing we ALL have in common. Disappointment.
Let’s see…
- The failure of my first marriage
- The non-successful journey of being traditionally published in the 90’s
- The unsuccessful sale of our home in 2005
- A hideous murder of someone we loved.
- A divorce
- A miserable marriage
- Hm…the list can go on and on
I’m sure you have your own list.
It took me years…
To understand Romans 5.5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
In retrospect
Now that years have passed I understand. Real GODLY Hope will never disappoint – in each of my listed six I can see redemption. The hope of heaven. And, friends, THAT is what real HOPE looks like. Heaven. In God’s economy, this earth life is but a vapor. But, Kingdom life?
Is forever.
Heavenly Hope will never disappoint. If we have placed our Hope in the saving work of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross, His burial, His resurrection, and His soon return…
We can never be disappointed. Heaven is some place I expect to be when this earth life is over.
Now, that’s hope, which will not disappoint!

I love that we went for the same verse! That is definitely the best hope of all!
THE VERY BEST!!!
“Real GODLY Hope will never disappoint” – Amen to that. It’s the only thing we can count on.
It certainly is!
I find that hope is the greatest gift of my faith. Thank you for the beautiful reminder! Karen (FMF #7)
I find that too. I hold on to HOPE with a vengeance!
My list looks different, but the results have been the same–growth, and God working in his own time to bring about needed changes, and miracles to his glory.
AMEN SISTER.
Disappointment will be found
in all affairs of men,
however noble, wise and sound,
for it’s beyond our ken
to fashion that which will last
in eternal, bright perfection,
for time, the slayer, always casts
our best to its abjection.
It is then that we must turn
to God, through our salt tears,
and it is then that we must learn
that the slow decay of years
must be now our sole domain
until the day of Heaven’s gain.
Is Barb creating a book for all of these wonderful poems?
