Kate said DIRECTION
Good word for a new year. Direction. What direction should I go? I’ve asked myself that question already, as it applies to this new decade we are in, 2020.
I know the things I want to accomplish this year and the list is rather ambitious; yet, I will just do the next thing and get the things done. I know one thing, as I start one thing I will not allow myself to start another until I am done with the first. I do not leave things unfinished.
Back to direction
There is a verse that I love and I quote it often.
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30.21
Isn’t that a great scripture? I love how it says your ears shall hear a word behind you!
The Holy Spirit Compass
Have you ever been somewhere and you just sense a prompting, Don’t go that way. Don’t go there.
Well that is exactly what this verse is saying. When you come to a crossroad, allow Holy Spirit to tell you which way to go.
Now THAT is the best direction!

Remember when we used that verse Ashe Pregnancy Care Center!
I do remember. I love that verse.
Used it with Michael a lot in his senior year.
A Holy Spirit compass – love that! Already enjoying a new year of FMF…look forward to following along in this new year ahead!
Me too, Jen, FMF is one of my favorite weekly writing op!
I love that verse! I’ve prayed it so often through the years. Thank you for reminding us about it today. Just what I needed to hear. xoxo
Amen, right Bettie? I love it too. Listen THIS IS THE WAY NOW WALK IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will definatley be using my Holy Spirit compass this year.
🙂
Can’t go wrong!!!!
Oh rats – I forget to leave my one word. Sigh. It is BLOOM. After a year of surrender – and, yes, some pruning – I am looking forward to how God will allow me to BLOOM and bear fruit this year!!
Pruned to bloom and bear! LOVE IT.
I feel that my plans for this year are ambitious too, but it is reassuring to know that God is there and he will keep us on track.
I have no doubt of that, Lesley!
I’ve never caught that the word came from behind! I’m gonna have to do some ‘steeping’ on this. Thank for always having a heartfelt message that points to hope!
*BTW—my word is CONFIDENT not in my self or my abilities. It’s CONFIDENT HOPE that God will do what He says in, through, and for me for the sole (and soul) purpose of revealing His glory.
Romans 5.5
Too ill for anything beyond a haiku.
When the owl flaps his wings
in the frosty night
the mouse is thereby warned.
Amen. Praying.
My word for 2020 is stewardship!
STEWARDSHIP is a wonderful word and principle to take into 2020.
Love this! Not always easy to remember and trust in but is what it is best,
The only way!
Trying to do a little cath-up tonight after spending a week apartment hunting. We aren’t there yet, but getting closer… i HOpe
I am studying the spiritual disciplines this year. My verse of the year is Jer 6:16 “take the old paths”
Take the old paths – need to look that one up. xo
