Five Minute Friday: Direction

January 10, 2020 by admin 22 Comments

FMF DIRECTION

Kate said DIRECTION

Good word for a new year. Direction. What direction should I go? I’ve asked myself that question already, as it applies to this new decade we are in, 2020.

I know the things I want to accomplish this year and the list is rather ambitious; yet, I will just do the next thing and get the things done. I know one thing, as I start one thing I will not allow myself to start another until I am done with the first. I do not leave things unfinished.

Back to direction

There is a verse that I love and I quote it often.

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left. Isaiah 30.21

Isn’t that a great scripture?  I love how it says your ears shall hear a word behind you!

The Holy Spirit Compass

Have you ever been somewhere and you just sense a prompting, Don’t go that way. Don’t go there.

Well that is exactly what this verse is saying. When you come to a crossroad, allow Holy Spirit to tell you which way to go.

Now THAT is the best direction!

Kate said DIRECTION. I immediately went to Isaiah 30.21. #bgbg2

Oh rats – I forget to leave my one word. Sigh. It is BLOOM. After a year of surrender – and, yes, some pruning – I am looking forward to how God will allow me to BLOOM and bear fruit this year!!

I feel that my plans for this year are ambitious too, but it is reassuring to know that God is there and he will keep us on track.

I’ve never caught that the word came from behind! I’m gonna have to do some ‘steeping’ on this. Thank for always having a heartfelt message that points to hope!

*BTW—my word is CONFIDENT not in my self or my abilities. It’s CONFIDENT HOPE that God will do what He says in, through, and for me for the sole (and soul) purpose of revealing His glory.

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
