Five Minute Friday: Depend

September 29, 2017 by admin 16 Comments

The Five Minute Friday community met, laughed, chatted last night on Twitter – while I slept. Kate said…

00:00

Through the years I have DEPENDed on:

my parents

my sister

teachers

a husband (#1 wasn’t very dependable – #2 is quite)

kids

friends

pastor

church family

employers

co-workers

grandkids

I turn 67 next month, is the next thing to depend on…

DEPENDS?

Lord, have mercy – I hope not

Ha ha, I did NOT see that coming — although I should have, knowing your sense of humour.

Oh my! Thanks for the chuckle at the end. God blesses us with amazing people to depend on in our lives, doesn’t he? I’m in the 8 spot this week.

Thank you for the smile today! Although I’m 10 years younger (just turned 57) I can see the day approaching sooner than I would like for those “helpful” accessories! šŸ™‚

Just don’t laugh too hard – if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I don’t use Depends. I stay close to the lav, and keep a supply of clean briefs on hand. Such is life, or death. Whatever.

Two more things on which to depend – a ramped and throated M1911, and a Russian-built AK. These are the accessories you want when you go visiting in Hell. Oh, and an M79 with a cut-down barrel.

Ain’t no way Sestra! We will not go down that path. We will be strong to the end just like Mother! She “hated” that walker, the placard for the car, riding in Walmart! Me too! Thanks Mom! Now I appreciate all those things you “hated” because I do too!

Kate said fix Today, I come to confess. Dun Dun D Kate said fix

Today, I come to confess.
Dun Dun Dun Dun…

I used to be a FIXER.

Family problems? Not to worry I will manage, manipulate, and fix it. The only problem? It gets expensive and very stressful.

Fixing is bad for your health.

I have learned

There is a Fixer better than myself. This Fixer can and will FIX anything and anyone IF you ask.
If you release.
If you give it up.
If you lay the object of fix on the altar of sacrifice.

Sometimes…

There is an immediate fix. Sometimes The Fixer will ask you to sit still and do nothing. Sometimes The Fixer will use you in the fix.
But THIS I know…

The Fixer really doesn’t need any help from me.

So, What Does One Do?

We pray and our prayers keep The Fixer involved, on the scene, and in the situation.

The Fixer

Do you know Him?

But may the God of all grace [THE FIXER], who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settleĀ you.11Ā To HimĀ beĀ the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.Ā 1 Peter 5.10-11

Who or what are YOU trying to fix? Give them/it to The Fixer!
