Kate said DARKNESS
It’s a coincidence that Kate said darkness for the FMF word prompt. This past week on the main page of my blog I wrote about LIGHT!
Several years ago I created a brochure on the darkness – it was a helpful exercise in writing because of a very dark season our family walked through. It was five years of hell actually. But, it turned out well and God redeemed every mega second of those dark years. He restored what the locust had attempted to eradicate for good.
So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…Joel 2.25
That season is an anchor point for me – like a stone of remembrance. When I “feel” like God is light-years away, I remember and I rejoice. It gives me great hope and it restores my soul.
If you find yourself in a dark place, I highly recommend asking Father to bring to your remembrance a time He went above and beyond any expectation you had – when He showed up and showed off!
He will do it again. He doesn’t allow His kids to linger in darkness very long – He will present a choice to you, especially if your darkness is self-imposed. I know this because He worked this way in me. Read my post on “Light” and be encouraged.
‘Tis the season of LIGHT – be encouraged today by my words and my testimony, the darkness does not have to last because if you belong to the Father of Lights, one turn and you are in His sphere of Light!
If you would like the Dark:30 brochure, send me an email with your mailing address and I’ll share!
Such a good reminder that God redeems all! visiting as your FMF neighbor 🙂
A M E N !
I like the way the word says he “dispells” the darkness. Even the dark night sky was made full of light by his angels singing. I am grateful that even in my darkness I can still see the flicker of light, His light.
A M E N.
Yes, remembering times when God has helped us through dark times in the past can definitely give us hope when we’re facing darkness in the present.
Stones of remembrance.
The farm beds will not overcome it!
the farm beds?
Black was all that I beheld,
the choking velvet night,
as I stood on the open veld
surrounded by the light.
My soul had caved in on itself,
a mine’s supports had shattered;
my heart was tossed upon a shelf
and no-one thought it mattered.
But in the dark I heard the sound
of a shovel, moving dirt;
lantern-light, then, all around,
and Hands to tend my hurt.
Only He, the Strong to save
could dig me out of my own grave.
It’s getting hard, isn’t it? Prayers for you.
Needed this
Glad He gave me these words.
FMF is such a gift right?!
I loved this prompt too.
I also wrote about light this past week before knowing the prompt!
I hope you have a Light Filled week!
I hope we all do as Advent continues.
Sincerely
Jennifer
You did? Great minds!!!!!!!!!!
