I missed five Five Minute Friday’s in October and this morning as I opened Kate Motaung’s site I was delighted to see the word prompt! Getting the Write 31 Days challenge finished is such an incredible feat, makes one want to DANCE! Let’s see where this goes in five minutes! Timer is set.
I like to dance but I’m not a good dancer – two left feet! But I dance anyway! In the kitchen, with my hubs. At church during praise and worship. In my office doing the happy hallelujah dance. In our family, we dance!
Zephaniah 3.17 says, The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing.
The words rejoice and exult in this verse have SEVEN Hebrew meanings which translate, ready?
Lifting the hands
Confessing His word
Testimony of His grace
Bowing down
Singing
Making music
Shouting
Service to others as unto the Lord
Dancing
Jehovah God, the Creator of the Universe and Maker of every living thing dances over me.
Selah!

Wow. I never realized the word also meant “dance.” Makes sense! Thank you for sharing! Visiting from FMF.
Hi Charlie and thanks for coming by. Yes, He dances over us!
Love this! The Hebrew meanings of the words, rejoice and exult, point to worship in every way. Dancing is a form of worship. It’s fun to be back at Five Minute Friday, isn’t it???
Beautiful words . . . and educational as well! Thanks for sharing them with all of us.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks Brandi for coming by!
Dance party? I learned you love to dance!!!
We missed you at FMF last month. And yep finishing makes me want to dance too. I’m not a great dancer either but I don’t care…I choose to still dancing. One of my fave memories from my sister and I’s Nashville trip was taking line dancing lessons at the Wildhorse saloon.
We can have a dance party for us two-left-feeters!!!
And I learned a long time ago it means SPIN! He literally spins, twirls over us with singing, dancing, laughing, joy, happiness! In this crazy world we live in, HE still has it in the palm of his hand with singing and dancing and all those wonderful things. So so so glad I am HIS! I LOVE YOU LORD JESUS!
Sister, I thought of you and the praise song from Rick Joyner’s church when I wrote this!!! Spin, Jesus, spin!
Love this. I dance and I sing for the Lord’s pleasure and glory. No one else likes them much but that’s okay — they’re not for the world.

And, HE loves your singing and your dancing!!!
Wow. love the meanings of those wonderful words. I can’t dance well either. I almost wrote about meeting my husband at a dance hall. I have written about it before though. Thanks for sharing your inspiration. He will be my dance partner for eternity too.
Mary, God is the most amazing dance Partner of them all!
Great to have you back with us, Susan! Your enthusiasm and joy shine through this post. 🙂 Thanks for writing and linking up! Blessings on your weekend!
GOOD to be back, Kate!
I love this and love how you said He will always be your dance partner. Mine too. Great post.
Our amazing God has a huge dance floor, amen?
Great challenge and post. thanks
Sharon O – thank you for visiting and commenting.
Ahhhhh……I love to dance before the Lord………WITH the Lord, so to speak. And I am another “not good dancer”, but, I think HE cares not a whit how my dancing looks. Dance on! Dance on!
Kathy
Next time, a dance session!
