Great word – love ’em or hate ’em?
My friend Kitty draws energy from people. If she is alone too much? She feels lethargic and almost depressed. So, when that happens she goes out into public, not necessarily a big crowd but somewhere people are.
Crowds deplete me. It’s as though someone left the battery on high power and sucked all my energy out. When that happens, and it does at times, I have to recluse. Go home. Be home within the confines of our home and recharge. Plug-in. Re-charge.
Crowds…how can I not mention the most famous “crowd” in the New Testament. SHE was there. The dear woman who had a menstrual cycle non-stop for 12 years. She was one woman lost in a crowd of people – they had all come to see the Master. She was so weak she crawled through the crowd –
There…over there she thought, I know it’s Him…I see His feet, His sandals, right there…she reached long and her energy was just about gone but she grabbed it. The hem. The dirty, dusty, ragged hem of His cloak.
Who touched me? Jesus asked His friends?
What do You mean ‘who touched You?’ There is a huge crowd here and we can’t see our feet below us nevermind who touched You.
Someone did. I felt power leave my body – someone touched me and was healed.
Suddenly she felt strength flood her weakened body. She felt…wait…she felt dry for the first time in years. First to her knees. Now almost to her feet. All of a matter of seconds. And, then she knew she had the physical power to stand. Face to face…with The Master. “It was I Lord who touched You.”
Woman, you are healed and whole – leave the crowd and go home.
Crowds. Love ’em or leave ’em – they are part of living in this world and you never know just who you may meet!
Way over five. But oh so worth it.
Just a side note, Lisa-Jo Baker said, “CROWD,” March 14th, 2014!!! I wrote on it here.
