Kate said care.
When I was a little girl we attended Grace Bible Chapel, a Brethren Assembly Fellowship, Exclusive… don’t ask. Once a month the Sunday evening service included hymn requests – now, back then we sang from hymn books [Hymns of Grace and Truth] and my favorite hymn was page 100. If the leader didn’t pick my waving hand, he would (maybe) pick another family member raising their hand for me! But one way or the other, number 100 would be requested.
Memories
I hadn’t thought of this hymn in a very long time – when Kate said “care.”

I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus,
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true;
I would tell you how He changed my life completely,
He did something that no other friend could do.No one ever cared for me like Jesus,
There’s no other friend so kind as He;
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me,
O how much He cared for me.All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me,
All my heart was full of misery and woe;
Jesus placed His strong and loving arms around me,
And He led me in the way I should go.No one ever cared for me like Jesus,
There’s no other friend so kind as He;
No one else could take the sin and darkness from me,
O how much He cared for me.O how much He cares…
O how much He cares for me.
He still does you know…
O! How much He cares for YOU! And, me!
And, every precious aborted baby? He cares for them.
And, if you want to hear a really old song?
Oh, Susan! This is one of my favorite songs! Warms my heart every time I hear or sing it. HE really does care about everything we’re going through. I have to ask myself, though…..do I care about all He endured for me? Thank you for this!
Those old hymns, amen?
I’ve never heard of that song before, but the words are lovely!
It’s a lovely old hymn!
I also remember this song. Thanks for reminding me of the words and I can sing it this morning because I know the melody. I miss singing the hymns. Most of the time we are singing “modern” songs. Sometimes I think the younger generation is missing out on so many rich, theologically correct and worshipful songs and hymns. That isn’t to say that I don’t like the new songs. I do. I just miss the “old” ones. 🙂
I totally agree.
Now Jesus is my bestest friend
(sometimes He thinks I am a drip)
and He’ll be with me to the end
of the very baddest trip.
I’m not talkin’ LSD,
no ‘Lucy In The Sky’;
I mean what’s happenin’ to me,
and how I’m gonna die,
but Big J, He makes all things new,
and brings down Heaven’s light
and side by side we’re walkin’ through
cancer’s devil-night
and I don’t gnash my teeth nor groan
’cause I’ll never walk alone.
You never will.
However bad it gets, I am OK.
I know that. Remember – my diagnosis isn’t great…. And, I’m ok too!
Susan, I remember this song. Thank you for the recall. This is so touching to hear today. Blessings.

We all need it today! xo
What a beautiful hymn! I remember the slightly more modern song when I hear the word ‘care’–I think they call it the Cares Chorus (Cast, all your cares upon him/Lay all of your burdens/Down at his feet…). I’m glad there’s always a song about how much God cares for us that comes to mind when we doubt or forget that truth!
Old hymn or contemporary chorus – HE CARES FOR US!
this is a new song for me. FMF4
Hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the memories.
I remember this old hymn, and also the days when we got to pick hymns at the Sunday evening services at church. That was a long time ago.
Sandra, indeed it was!
I bet my Grandma sang that in her Baptist choir. So pretty. He sure does love all us sinners❤️
He sure enough does! Aren’t we blessed.
