Kate said beyond
Usually, I peek at Kate’s word prompt on Friday morning – go into the kitchen to make coffee, etc. and let the word percolate. Most of the time a song or a scripture will come to mind and I can let that be my focus to write.
But, today, nothing really came to mind except…
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2.9
Beyond our wildest imaginations!
About ten years ago a friend’s husband dropped dead as he worked out in their basement – it was devastating to say the least. Yet, a friend of hers shared a little book, “Within Heaven’s Gates,” and it transformed her.
The book itself is over one hundred years old and can be found on Amazon. The author’s name is Rebecca Springer. You can find the book here.
It is the most delightful book to read and ponder on heaven.
When my mom entered heaven’s gates
I re-read it. I bought the original book “Intra Muros.” If you want heaven to feel real and tangible, treat yourself to Springer’s book. I’m not going to tell you anything more about it because I don’t want to spoil it. But the book is beyond your wildest dreams!
Beyond
I am in no hurry but heaven is definitely a longing of mine. Yes, I still want to travel in Gracee. And, yes, I want to write another book. I certainly look forward to a couple of kayaks and exploring our lake. But, heaven?
Oh yes! I look forward to it – it’s beyond the horizon and beyond anything we could dream of or imagine.
Will you be there?
We all have a longing for heaven, but we can still appreciate and rejoice in the present. As long as I keep turning to the Light, I can handle the here and now.
With The Light, it is possible!!!
Inspires me to buy the book!
Hope you and Lowell have a Blessed Christmas
It is beyond delightful!
yes, how I long to get Home! Grateful for the peace in the present from our Prince of Peace who gives us the peace that is not like the world’s peace. good word here, friend.
Thanks Mariel! Read the book!
Oh Yes! A friend gave me that original book, “Intra Muros” a few years ago, and I was so blessed too. Looking up every day!!
You’ve read it? O! I love that you did. Is it not delightful? xo
Sounds like a good book. It’s so important to look beyond our present circumstances and remember the amazing hope we have!
It changes everything!
The book sounds so intriguing! I love the picture of the word prompt of the day percolating in your mind while your coffee percolates!
Yes!!! I’m still thinking about elephants facing east!
Not thinking much ’bout Heaven’s Gate,
and what I might receive;
I have got a closer fate,
like namely, how to breathe.
Not that I am not thankful for
the promises God made,
but going through the Golden Door,
I have to be, well, dead,
and what’s in the in-between
tears my vey soul,
for this death will not be clean,
nor will it keep me whole,
and the pain of getting there
is really more than I can bear.
Andrew……………………………..
You’ve whet my appetite for the book – I’ll check it out. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised that being a Christian means having to balance our longing for heaven with still enjoying the present
Key word: BALANCE. Always good!
Susan Awesome. I looked up the book on amazon and added it to my book list so I don’t forget. I’ve currently got 4 books I’m trying to read at the same time. I totally agree with you. I too am in no hurry, but in my wildest dreams and beyond, I dream of spending eternity with the uncreated king of the universe.
