Kate said behold!
‘Tis the Season to Behold Him! Fa La La La La La La La La!
Behold! You will be mute and unable to speak!
Behold! You will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.
Behold! The maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
Behold! Henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
And, all of the above “behold’s” are found in Luke chapter 1.
Behold!
The Advent of our Savior is an event to behold. 400 plus years of silence from the prophets – but a remnant remained faithful. There were those who were ready and prepared to BEHOLD!
Zacharias
Elizabeth
Mary
Joseph (Matthew 1)
Think about these four obscure people – chosen to behold. An old priest. A barren, mature woman. A 14-year old virgin girl. Chosen by the God of the Universe to behold His miracles. And, Joseph, Mary’s overwhelmed husband fiancé.
Susan…
Chosen to behold the Savior of the World. To call upon Him and receive His free gift of eternal life and live forever with Him in heavenly places.
As They Say
As they say in the mountains, where we lived 30 years.
I am eternally beholdin’ to God my Father and Jesus Christ, my Redeemer. Forever beholdin’…
How About You?
To grace I am beholden,
to Heaven goin’ toward,
and so I’ll keep be-boppin’,
dancing for the Lord.
Not something I could ever earn,
not something I could merit,
and I really had to learn
how to grin and bear it,
this knowing that it wasn’t me
(a dashing prince ‘mong men!)
who had won the victory;
it was won way back when,
the bloody trophy on the shelf,
won for me by God Hisself.
Thank you for not mentioning the frying pan. I am beholden to you.
Hey, you’re welcome!
From frying pans I shall retire
for the fat’s now in the fire.
Well, it’s been a long night…
You are excused.
All the many times the word “behold” is used in Luke 1 and 2. It is amazing to think on. May we behold Him with fresh eyes is my prayer this morning. xo
I saw where our posts are similar!!!
Christ’s birth truly is a Miracle to behold! It’s easy to read right past it until you stop and look for it and see how many times it is there!
Right? I was surprised this morning when reading the account in Bible Gateway!
Susan, I appreciate this message of the “four obscure people chosen to behold Him.” It is powerful to contemplate that He has also chosen us to behold Him.
Little ole, obscure me!!! I am eternally grateful.
I’m beholding that God loves me even though I’m a mess at times! I followed your post through Five Minute Friday.
Regina, AMEN, sister.
Behold was my word of the year a few years back. I want to do a study on Behold verses but it didn’t happen that year. 🙁 May have to keep that on my list.
There are a lot of them!!!
