The first time I fell in love with you, was when I learned my son was going to marry your mother, I fell in love with her first! Then, I learned I was going to be a Grandma to a baby girl and I instantly re-fell in love, with YOU.
You have never disappointed! Oh sure, we’ve had our moments, haven’t we?
“Mimi, I can’t wear this – it’s itchy!”
“Mimi, I can’t eat that, it’s gross!”
We have been blessed, beyond words, to have spent every summer for the last eleven years with you here. And, it pains me to think that perhaps this summer will be Hannah-less. That friends and beach and work and other fun things will steal you from me.
I could go on and on, but I am a Grandmother of few words, strong opinions, and a hope for you that burns eternal!
I don’t want you to be in a hurry to fall in love.
I want you to like yourself and see yourself as God sees you – perfect in every way – because you are His, in Christ.
I don’t want you to be worried or anxious about insignificant things.
I want you to be wise and aware.
I don’t want you to be sad, or hurt, or disappointed. But, when these emotions rise, and I assure you they will – to learn how to trust The One who has a perfect plan and purpose for your life.
Ain’t no mountain high enough; ain’t no valley low enough; ain’t no river wide enough…to keep me away from you!
