When It Began
On Memorial Day weekend we celebrated our grandson’s 18th birthday and his high school graduation. We were all together, healthy and well. Monday, May 31st, hubs and I headed home. Tuesday, June 1, I began to feel not well.
A Roller Coaster
The hardest roller coaster of unfortunate events began. I became ill – now, that in itself isn’t so terribly awful but for someone who hasn’t had much more than a head cold in the last 50 years it was monumental!
I was sick. Weak. Tired. Breathing difficulties. Unable to do much. My husband became nurse extraordinaire.
Was It Co^id?
I presume it was. I was not officially tested. But, I lost taste, smell, and had almost every other symptom.
Am I Recovered?
No, I am not. All of June. All of July. Now, the 18th of August. I am still dealing with effects. This pit-of-hell virus is different for every single person. I have never had a fever. I have never had a cough. My oxygen levels never went below 96.
I am extremely sensitive to others. I do not go out into the marketplace. I don’t mingle with the public. I stay home, in our tiny house.
I still work every single day – I take naps when necessary. I try very hard to stay hydrated. I am currently dealing with an odor I cannot get rid of. I turn on the house water faucet and smell this horrid smell. NO ONE else smells it – it sends me to the bathroom every time and my trusty bucket. If anyone knows how to get rid of this anomaly, please let me know. It is horrible.
I’ve sent in new patient forms to an Internist, who is open to non-conventional treatments – I cannot link myself to pharmaceutical cocktails and living on meds. I’ve seen too many people in my life spend their days planning their next dose. I’ll let you know when I have my appointment and how it goes.
So Now You Know
The struggle is real and I’m ready for it to be over. On another note, I have announced my official retirement at the end of this year! It is a decision I have grappled with for well over a year! We hope to travel a lot in Gracee!
Now you know what I’ve been dealing with! If you have any questions, I’m glad to answer if I’m able.
