Kate said green I am entering the room reciting a Kate said green

I am entering the room reciting a poem – one of my favorite reads when my children were small. Ready?

Green eggs and ham? I do not Like them, Sam-I-am. Could you, would you, With a goat? I would not, Could not. With a goat! Would you, could you, On a boat? I could not, would not, on a boat. I will not, will not, with a goat. I will not eat them in the rain. I will not eat them on a train. Not in the dark! Not in a tree! – Dr. Seuss

What a cynical world we live in. I will never stop quoting Dr. Seuss. And, if I ever have another grandchild? They will be read the wonderful lyrics of Dr. Seuss.

Green

I happen to like the color green – for me it represents life and growth. Green grass. Green trees. Green turtles. Each filled with life. I like green. It’s my cousin’s favorite color. Her family home was full of green!

Green Hope

And, I will end my five minute essay with “MY” verse. The HOPE verse that changed me. It’s from the Message translation…

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope! Romans 15.13

What does green conjure up in you?
