HOPE – it keeps my heart beating!

December 1, 2010 by admin 11 Comments

But I’m stuck like a dope with a thing called hope, and I can’t get it out of my heart! Cockeyed Optimist by Rodgers & Hammerstein (South Pacific) This past Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent – in our church we lit the candle of HOPE, ushering in the Christmas season when we celebrate… [Read More]

…for in Him we live and move and have our being. Acts 17:28 The Heavenly View Book Club recently read The Shack, by William Paul Young – I have read this book three times and each time something else jumps off the page and hits me in the heart in a profound way. The story… [Read More]

it’s the little things

November 2, 2010 by admin 3 Comments

When all is said and done, it’s the little things that make our world the way we want it to be. I have been pondering on the little things that I am so very grateful for. This past weekend I went to a friend’s house and it is filled with beautiful antiques and loveliness!  When… [Read More]

he will make me walk on my high heels!

Though the fig tree does not blossom, nor fruit be on the vine. Though the labor of the olive fail and the fields yield no food. Though the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herds in the stall…Yet I will rejoice in the Lord I will joy in the God… [Read More]

the origin of my hope

March 11, 2010 by admin 22 Comments

It was a busy Thanksgiving morning, my mother-in-law, my husband and I were in the kitchen doing holiday things when the phone rang. For as long as I live I will remember that call. My dear friend’s son had been heinously murdered in West Palm Beach, FL. I ran to the building adjacent to our… [Read More]

Kate said FRESH Here we go again! Adjective Adv Kate said FRESH

Here we go again!

Adjective Adverb Noun

The Very First

thing that went through my mind this morning?

Don’t be so fresh.

That is what my mom would say to anyone who said something crass, off-color, or…well, FRESH!
My mom was a character – my friend calls people like my mom, “Catbirds!”
I’m not even sure where my mom’s version of fresh fits in. Any help is appreciated!

Fresh

I do like the idea of something smelling fresh.
A fresh coat of paint.
A fresh outlook.
A fresh perspective.
It is fresh on my palette (regarding taste).
Sheets hung on the clothesline smell so fresh!

Look what I found…

They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Psalm 92.14-15

So…

At this point, on this dreary Friday morning – I am going to go have a fresh cuppa coffee. And, I intend to remain fresh and green, bearing fruit in my old age!!!
