Five Minute Friday

five minute friday: yes!

September 4, 2015 by admin 30 Comments

It’s finally Friday! Remember that song? It’s finally Friday (sing it George Jones!)  Honestly, that song isn’t the best to put on a faith blog but if truth be told I sing the first line of this country song every Friday morning!  I don’t like Friday for the same reasons George does but one of… [Read More]

five minute friday: alone

August 28, 2015 by admin 30 Comments

Last night, for the second week in a row, I went to the FMF Twitter pre-party! I engaged with tweets, asked a question or two, and even responded to at least one! Then…my eyelids do this thing called lowering and I’m just plain finished for the day. I said goodnight and honestly? I was sound… [Read More]

five minute friday: find

August 21, 2015 by admin 24 Comments

I went to the party! Or, should I say the pre-party? There were several early birds and then Kate Motaung arrived and reined everyone in from the various rabbit trails of conversation. She’s sharp as a tack. Kind of like a teacher walking into a classroom of unruly children and unbeknownst to the kids, teacher… [Read More]

five minute friday: learn

August 14, 2015 by admin 28 Comments

I had every intention of joining the party at Kate’s last night but, people, 10 o’clock and I rarely see one another, last night was no exception. It’s been a week of yardwork, I mean hardwork, and I was bushed and sound asleep by 9:45. I’ve never been called the life of the party – BUT,… [Read More]

five minute friday: here

August 7, 2015 by admin 11 Comments

(Are these a man’s legs? Oh well!!!) Last night I tuned in to the live broadcast from the Five Minute Friday Retreat Center in Mount Juliet TN. Kate, Jen, Holly and Mary were rock stars. From what we could see of the center it looked lovely. High ceilings, black leather couch, big front door, I… [Read More]

five minute friday: try

July 31, 2015 by admin 24 Comments

I believe I’m one of the elders in the room when I join Kate Motaung’s congregation on Five Minute Friday’s – and bearing that title gives me a different slant on the words she pulls out of the hat each week. Today’s word (for me) is quite a challenge. What on earth can you say… [Read More]

five minute friday: ten

July 24, 2015 by admin 24 Comments

Doing the happy dance because it’s Friday morning. I just spent TWO hours mowing our ONE acre yard with a push mower. Yes, I’m already tired and I’ve only been up THREE hours. I gave my hubs FOUR kisses before he left for work. I am getting ready to free-write for FIVE minutes over… [Read More]

five minute friday: free

July 17, 2015 by admin 24 Comments

Free What does that word mean to you? Free. My mind races with the imagery. No longer bound. No more chains. No more cost. No more guilt. No more shame. No more condemnation. No more price. No more fear. I am free. Oh! But my freedom cost my Best Friend everything. He grew up knowing… [Read More]

Kate said permission. Wow! What a word. I think I Kate said permission.

Wow! What a word. I think I will go “there.” That proverbial place one doesn’t like to venture. THERE.
But, I have permission!

God or man?

Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the Name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to Him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4(NIV)

As a believer AND a follower of Christ – who grants me permission to do anything? With great discernment and faith, I trust my good, good Father to allow me or to withdraw me.

He Is My Guide

I will not listen to a government I do not trust. My peace comes from heavenly places and it gives me permission to say no to certain things. I follow man’s law regarding speed limits. I pay taxes. I don’t steal. But when it comes to my body?

The Temple of Holy Spirit?

I ask permission of Father. When He says yes or no I listen to His every word and reason.
Who gives you permission?
