Five Minute Friday – Beyond

December 11, 2020 by admin 18 Comments

Kate said beyond Usually, I peek at Kate’s word prompt on Friday morning – go into the kitchen to make coffee, etc. and let the word percolate. Most of the time a song or a scripture will come to mind and I can let that be my focus to write. But, today, nothing really came… [Read More]

Five Minute Friday – Grief

November 20, 2020 by admin 22 Comments

Kate said grief

Kate said grief I confess, after all, you all are my good friends and usually know if I’m sincere or snarky, I didn’t like her word choice for the Friday before GratefulGiving, aka Thanksgiving. Five Minute Friday – Ahead

November 6, 2020 by admin 26 Comments

What’s Ahead? “Anything coming?” Hubs asks as we drive along a two-lane country road. “Nope, all clear to pass.” I reply. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could say that about the future in America? But, we cannot. When All Truth Is Told… Not one of us knows what is ahead. No one can ‘guess’… [Read More]

October 30, 2020 by admin 27 Comments

Kate said vote Never in a million years would I have guessed Kate would open such a large can of worms for a word prompt. But she did and I’ll bite the bait! VOTE! And, do not ever think your vote doesn’t count because it does. Two Issues Determine My Vote They are:  Life and… [Read More]

Kate said green I am entering the room reciting a Kate said green

I am entering the room reciting a poem – one of my favorite reads when my children were small. Ready?

Green eggs and ham? I do not Like them, Sam-I-am. Could you, would you, With a goat? I would not, Could not. With a goat! Would you, could you, On a boat? I could not, would not, on a boat. I will not, will not, with a goat. I will not eat them in the rain. I will not eat them on a train. Not in the dark! Not in a tree! – Dr. Seuss

What a cynical world we live in. I will never stop quoting Dr. Seuss. And, if I ever have another grandchild? They will be read the wonderful lyrics of Dr. Seuss.

Green

I happen to like the color green – for me it represents life and growth. Green grass. Green trees. Green turtles. Each filled with life. I like green. It’s my cousin’s favorite color. Her family home was full of green!

Green Hope

And, I will end my five minute essay with “MY” verse. The HOPE verse that changed me. It’s from the Message translation…

Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope! Romans 15.13

What does green conjure up in you?
