This baby is like twins: a boy and a girl! Conception came easy but this pregnancy was lonnng! One can conceive a book idea and let it begin growing and then put it in a file folder and let it gestate – for years.
THAT is what happened to 52 Commands of Jesus for Children. Conceived in the fall of 2013. Shelved in the winter of 2014.
Until this past March. I had just completed and (self) published 40 Days of Lent and I was sitting in the yellow recliner pondering, what next, Lord?
Nothing new I can assure you of that.
But, why Lord? I finished 40 days of Lent and that was a year-old idea.
What about 52 commands? Remember that one? It’s in a folder in your vertical file. Pull it out. Finish it. My kids need it.
Yes, Lord.
That’s how the Lord talks to me – pretty much in my face and overtaking my space. Ya’ know?
What a sweet book it is. It’s big, 8 1/2 x 11, like a workbook. If I had to put an age to it, I’d go with 4 and up – the beauty of Jesus’ commands? He spoke them to adults – He taught them for us, the grown-up kids! All red words from the Gospels and a few at the end of the lineup from the Apostle Paul!
52 Commands of Jesus for Children can be used in family devotions (one command per week), children’s small groups, and Sonday School classes. But using it is a must! After all, remember what He said, “My kids need it.”
The official birth, or launch, of this baby is June 11-17 — just in time for Father’s Day! But, we’re doing a little pre-birth christening today and sharing the link so you can order it and begin loving it. Be sure to have colored pencils in the house because the coloring pages are designed for colored pencils and when the coloring is finished? It looks like watercolor art! You can download additional color pages here on the blogsite.
I really think you’re going to like this book! xo
