Can I get a witness?
When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. Matthew 24.37-39
So, what exactly does it mean?
There is a lot of commentary to be found (just Google it) and read on “the days of Noah.” Fallen angels having sex with women; giants living in the land; the decrease in human lifespan. And, one of the saddest statements in the entire Bible is found in Genesis 6.6 So the Lord was sorry He had ever made them (humankind) and put them on the earth. It broke His heart. (NLT)
The heartbreak of the God of the Universe – was it His tears that made the Great Flood? Yes, that statement is hyperbole, but how does the broken heart of Jehovah even manifest itself?
If He was brokenhearted then? He must be ten times as brokenhearted now. What a state this world is in.
One only has to log-in to social media, turn on the TV, tune in the car radio to hear and see the brokenness of our world.
Lack of law and order.
No regard or respect for leaders.
Cat 5 Hurricanes.
Unprecedented weather occurrences.
What in the world is going on?
Regardless of your theology or eschatology or denomination-ology…folks, this Revelation thing is getting real and in our faces. It’s possible the return of Jesus Christ for His church (those whose hearts have been cleansed and redeemed by His shed blood on Calvary’s cross) is near.
Our heartbroken God may soon say, “Son, go and get them!”
Does that thought bring peace or anxiety as we walk through these “days of Noah?”
My heart is at peace and my spirit is hopeful – I am looking up and holding on and my ear is turned and tuned to hear the blast of the trumpet when He calls.
I pray yours is as well.
