I mean, I’m on a roll – you can call me “Debby Downer” or a “doom & gloom” writer but y’all this stuff can’t be made up.
We are bombarded every single day with horrific scenes on social media. Political crap. Rampant immorality. Non-binary identification. Moms wanting little boys to have sex change operations at 7 years of age. Abortions being shouted and applauded.
How could this world get worse?
Headlines are Heinous
A member of the US House of Representatives attends a charitable function and raises thousands of dollars for the transgender movement.
Mother wants her 7-year old son to begin gender transition.
“I was neither male or female; I was non-binary.”
“…calls abortionists modern-day saints.”
“High school shooting leaves multiple people injured…”
Girl found lying in a urine drenched mattress after being held captive for months – perhaps years.
“Police are investigating after 26 children were found behind a false wall in the basement of a Colorado day care.”
The Bible Says…
As the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that [Noah] entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24.37-39
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah 6.5-8
So, What Does This Mean For Us?
Last week I wrote about the promise of Jesus’ return to take His believers to glory. There are a lot of hints and clues as to when this will happen found in The Word. Matthew 24 (above) is one of them. The world had to be pretty darn wicked and perverse for God to say, “He was sorry that He had made man on the earth and His heart was grieved.” Was it worse than now?
I feel compelled to remind all of us that it IS going to happen – it is not an IF it happens. I believe with every fiber of my being it will and if God’s heart was grieved then? He must be in crisis mode grief now.
I am going to stand with Billy Graham when he was asked the really hard questions, “Is this right or wrong? Is it truly wrong when it feels so right?”
I am going to hone my knowledge and when asked the hard questions, I will say with full confidence…
Well, the Bible says…
While I have breath I will declare the Truth.
It is with a heart filled with gratitude that I know Truth. And, I believe with all my heart that as long as a person has breath there is hope for them to know Truth also!
