We all experience them. Moments in time.
A moment when a shift occurs. A change takes place. A decision is made.
And, at that precise moment – everything changes.
Several weeks ago, Kate of Five Minute Friday, announced the writing prompt “moment.” And, the crowd of writers began writing their five-minute essay on moment.
It hasn’t left me. The importance of moment. My five-minute essay can be found here.
Since that writing I have pondered on specific moments in The Word. Moments, which changed history.
Consider:
A fruit tree.
I don’t know what rain is but I’m building a boat.
A ram in the thicket.
A burning bush.
Moments.
We just returned from an extraordinary road trip. We covered 5,000 miles and experienced a lot of moments. The Grand Canyon was a moment I’ll never forget – the sheer magnitude and wonder of it.
I’m researching the life-changing moments in God’s Word and a book title is brewing. I am convinced every one of us must be able to point to a moment in our life when God said, “YOU.” And, we say, “YES, LORD.”
Have you had a moment of life-changing proportion? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
There are so many great moments in Scripture!
Tara, this book is getting my creative juices flowing for sure. Thank you for my card and Chai. Yum.
Moments that makes us all stop and ponder a bit. I’m excited for your new book
HM, I am too! Can’t stop thinking about it.
Quiet moments when you see God’s creations from a tiny bird to a beautifully colored rainbow. Moments of gratitude to moments of dispair he is always surrounding us. Thank you Lord.
Amen to that Merry. We’ve seen a few moments, haven’t we?
Isn’t it true that the great moments of our lives often begin on ordinary days. We might not even realize a great moment has happened until we look back on it later and see the fingerprints of God all over it.
MM, amen. My life is full of moments but the one extraordinary moment was the one when I relinquished my whole self to my Savior!
Welcome home, Susan.
What stories you will tell … what moments you’ll recall …
;-}
….oh yes…xo
Moments where I’m drawn back to God and reminded of His presence. I love those little moments in the stillness or even in a room full of activity where I stop dead in my tracks and say, “Thank you Lord”!
Glad you are home; can’t wait to see more pictures, hear more, and/or read more!
Jan, I’m having jammie week – need to deal with laundry and photos!!! Thanks for always reading.
THE MOMENT for me (and I’ve had plenty of others)…….the night in autumn 1974 when I knelt with Binky in front of their couch on St. Clair St. in Martinsville, IN and he gently lead me through the Scriptures to show me THE WAY……….I got saved that night. It was FOR REAL and how thankful I am!
Kathy
THAT moment. Life-changing. xo
Oh there are so many moments when God stepped into my life, and everything changed! What a beautiful topic for your next book. I am getting behind & need to catch up! So looking forward to hearing more stories from your trip! xo
Bettie, do you get my weekly email? I think you’d enjoy it. Let me know. xo
The email that I receive just tells me when you have published a new post. I would love to get your weekly email. I think I have tried to sign up for it in the past, and somehow don’t do it correctly! So, yes, if you could put me on that list, I would be so glad! xo
I will remedy that TODAY.
This past year I’ve seen many moments of answers to prayer, and moments that show me God is here with me every single day. Blessings to you, Susan!
Every. Single. Day. Good to know, Gayl!
Love this idea Susan!
There are some real extraordinary moments in The Book!
Oh yes! I can look back and see moments that changed my future. For instance, one day my daughter asked if I could have any job I wanted, what would it be. I opened my mouth and said for the first time, “I’d like to be a church secretary because I love the church and have done almost every volunteer job there is, why not do that, too?” Saying that set into motion the next 22 years. I was hired as a church secretary within a week of speaking it into existence!
WOW! I love that. Speaking it into existence. Yes, Lord.
Can’t wait to see what comes of your ponderings. I have had many moments and God is so gracious to keep providing more.
Moment by moment, new mercies I see! ♫
