But He gives more grace. James 4.6a
Last night I laid in bed thinking about what I’d blog about this week. As most know I haven’t been operating with a full tank! But I’m getting stronger and there is hope of healing on the horizon.
My mind was buzzing with memories of grace. This, by the way, is a wonderful exercise for when you are feeling less than. God’s grace has been an operating force in my life – there is no denying it. Today, I want to share some experiences and situations (not all mine) where only grace, God’s GRACE, could win the day! Ready?
Grace Wins
- A wife cries out to the Lord – I’m done with this marriage. God answers, You are not done with me, trust me and I will give you the grace to carry on.
But He gives more grace.
- A young, barren woman’s love of her life is killed. She learns she is pregnant.
But He gives more grace.
- Lord, we missed it. We were confused by the lateness of this offer. Did we miss You?
But He gives more grace.
- Lord, we can’t do this unless You do that. (36 hours later. He did.)
But He gives more grace.
- Lord, she so desperately wants to go to college but there is no money. (A miracle came within 24 hours)
But He gives more grace.
- Lord, one credit will keep him from graduating? During this horrendous Covid time? (He received his diploma)
But He gives more grace.
- Lord, bring just the right Christian man to our friend – she is lonely and wants to love again. (She gets married today)
But He gives more grace.
- How are you today? I just want you to know how proud we are of you. How hard you work. How hard you try. (Replies, “You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today.)
But He gives more grace.
What About You?
Do you have these anchor points? Those things that seemed impossible but then God gave more grace? Write them down, remember them, make them stones of remembrance. The beauty of this practice is it’s a faith builder. If He did that then…He can do this now.
God has not run out of grace – not by a long shot. Maybe we have run out of the running to Him? Let’s make a pact. This week, let’s trust BIG. Our good, good, Father awaits us – He desires to release some GRACE!!!
Let’s Be Grace-Givers
I have been extended so much grace – now, I want to be a grace giver. In this crazy, wacky world we need to give some grace…and, you know I have to throw this in: Grace AND Truth, IN Love. No cheap grace here. We want to give the same kind God gives.

But God Gives More Grace. James 4.6
So good, Susan, I needed his today! I have so many grace gifts, but I don’t write them down, then when I hit a hard place, I can’t remember them. I’m taking seriously your advice to start writing these down, so I can retell God’s stories of grace! Thank you!
I think it is so important to journal these gifts, Donna. You’re a writer ! Write them down!!!
Susan, much needed and timely as always. I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. How blessed you are with Lowell’s care!
How blessed we all are with God’s grace!!
There is no shortage of it!
Such an encouraging post, Susan! So grateful for God’s endless supply of grace! And I am grateful you doing better!
Me too, Jo… this one got me!
I love the reminder to write them down. That helps us get through those tough times. God’s grace is the best gift…and we don’t always appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.
Lisa, His grace gifts just build up our Hope (in Him)!
Beautiful grace remembrances! It made me think that I need to make a remembrance jar so that I can pull it out and pull out all the remembrances one by one on blue-devil days! Thank you, Susan! Glad you are feeling better! Shalom! ~ Maryleigh
Maryleigh, GREAT idea. I may have to make one of those too.
His grace abounds more. Praise his name
and more and more and more and more…………………..
Susan, this is such a great reminder to keep track of God’s gifts of grace in our lives. Few things have built my faith more than erecting those “piles of stones” during seasons in the wilderness. I’m glad you’re starting to feel better!
Lois, so nice to see you here, I have so enjoyed your writings of late. They are “in real life messages.” Ones, I need in this season.
This is such a powerful testimony, Susan!
And I appreciate your encouragement, “I have been extended so much grace – now, I want to be a grace giver. We want to give the same kind God gives. Five Words – But God Gives More Grace. (James 4:6)”
Amen. Thanks, Lisa.
Absolutely beautiful, Susan! And true. I am SO thankful for God’s grace, that it never runs out, and that he gives it to us to give to others. I love reading your examples here of grace received and given.
And, there’s more in His storehouse!
So, so good!
God doesn’t have to prove a thing to me – but He does, over and over and over.
I’m applying this.
