it is a new day

by admin on January 3, 2013

100_3220Absolutely NO New Year resolutions for me this year.

  • practice clean and green eating habits.
  • exercise each day – not kill myself and not to become a body-builder (LOL)!
  • spend lots of time with my Three Best Friends (God my Father / Sweet Jesus / Comforting Spirit).
  • pray more effectively.
  • be kind.
  • love my family with great wisdom and counsel from above.
  • exercise my spiritual gifts for His honor and glory.
  • work each day with integrity and diligence.
  • trust more.
  • remember, with joy, those in my life who are gone.
  • not to get ahead of God in any area.

These are in no particular order – and they are not resolutions or promises – I am human. I fail. I get off track.

What I want to do – I don’t. What I don’t want to do – I do. (Romans 7.15)

What does YOUR new day look like?

I like this! I am going back to my life verse Isaiah 61, asking the Lord for opportunities to lead people to Him, and praying for newness in my life.

Good job Sistah!

All of the above is so true. I am being convicted in some of the books I am reading by the words: opportunity, change and risk in the context of seeing to the needs of others. As my Pastor challenged us,” value people”.

I think it may be time for the “rubber to meet the road” in our Christian walk.

Yes, HM, to listen, to obey His sweet voice and when He is silent, just do the last thing He told us to do!

To faithfully read Heaven Calling, a daily devotional book that my sister Pam gave me after our brother Bob died in October of 2011. To also read His Princess daily, a book given to me by my neighbor and friend when I had my knee replacement in 2011. Judy past away on December 20th 2012 and we will share in her celebration of life this Saturday. I will have them both in thought as I read these daily Love Letters from our King and Hearing our Father’s voice every day of the year.

Donna, your reading list sounds great and super encouraging. Another wonderful little book to read when you are done: Within Heaven’s Gates by Rebecca Springer – oh my you will love it! I am reading “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young as my 2013 devotional. So far I like it!

Sus,
As my husband and I drove home this afternoon from a seeing a movie in a nearby town, we discussed the very scripture you listed above. Far from it being an excuse to fail, it is a great encouagement that WHEN, not if, we fail, sin, that there is grace enough to cover.
In my 65th year (35th of being a Christian), it is hugely apparent that “where sin abounds, GRACE….CHRIST…does much more abound…..”
Thank you, again, for being real and thereby helping all of your faithful readers be real as well. (: Love in Christ Always, K
